Twitter has started to suspend antifa-linked accounts which have more than 71,000 followers after Inauguration Day riots in Portland and Seattle which targeted the Democratic Party headquarters and Immigrational and Customs Enforcement offices.
Around four accounts tied with the violent fascist group have been taken down off of Twitter which include @TheBaseBK, the account for the anarchist center in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Archived web pages of the accounts show they shared more than 71,000 followers.
Their pages now read “Account suspended” for violating Twitter rules and Terms of Service.
The move comes after rioters smashed windows, dragged dumpsters into the streets, flipped over a car and smashed windows at the Democratic Party headquarters in Portland. Eight people were arrested by the end of the day.
Hundreds of members of the militant left-wing organization gathered in cities across the United States as cops were forced to fire tear gas as protests erupted into violence and vandalism.
On a protest banner carried by Antifa rioters in Portland, Oregon, read “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge”. Which shows us the American people, that Antifa are the real fascist’s in America. They are showing their true colors. They are against Trump, they are against Biden, they are against the police. It seems that they do not care about unity at all, it seems that what they want is control and conflict.
Joe Biden famously called antifa a ”movement” but not an organization during the presidential debate with former President Donald Trump in September.
The suspensions were first reported by Andy Ngo, who runs the conservative blog The Post Millennial.
