Patriots and trump supporters filled the streets of Washington D.C. on Saturday, to show support for our president Donald Trump.
Supporters carried flags which read “Don’t Tread on Me”, “Trump 2020” and “Four More Years”. The patriots gathered at Freedom Plaza which is located near the White House. Some supporters were chanting “Stop the Steal”.
The rallies come a day after a major legal defeat for Trump, when the Supreme Court Friday declined to hear a Texas case that challenged the election results in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin.
The rally was organized by Women for America First, which is a conservative group that also organized the “Stop the Steal” rally. The group expected 15,000 people in attendance for Saturdays rally.
The rally first started at noon. Speakers included Michael Flynn, Sebastian Gorka, Katrina Pearson and Boris Epshetyn. They encouraged the supporters to stay strong and not accept the election results.
Trump tweeted Saturday morning that he was unaware of the event, “but I’ll be seeing them!” People cheered as he flew on Marine One on his way out of town for the Army-Navy football game in West Point, New York.
Former national security adviser Michael Flynn on Saturday made his first public remarks since President Trump pardoned him last month.
“In this crucible moment of our time, we have to pray that truth triumphs over lies, justice triumphs over abuse and fraud, honesty triumphs over corruption,” Flynn said. “Our sacred honor triumphs over infamy.”
“The courts aren’t going to decide who the next president of the United States is going to be,” the former national security adviser told the crowd. “We the people decide.”
“I’ve read the Constitution. I don’t think Joe Biden has,” Gorka told the crowd, “but I’ve read the Constitution. And I know one thing: It ain’t over until January 20th.”
The presidential inauguration is Jan. 20.
