Britain is considering entering another lockdown phase in response to a recent surge in coronavirus cases. Their confirmed cases have doubled to 6,000 a day and hospital rates in London continue to soar. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is not too optimistic of the situation. He recently explained, “I don’t want to get into a second national lockdown at all…but you do wonder if we have to go further.” The UK imposed several new restrictions Tuesday.
As for other European countries, there has been a clear and steady increase in coronavirus cases. Spain will restrict access to public places and parks around the city of Madrid. France has also banned gatherings of more than 10 people in cities like Marseille and Bordeaux.
Other countries taking include Iceland, Greece, Ireland, Holland, and Denmark. They are implementing similar restrictions to Spain and France. The core theme of the restrictions seek to reduce the size of public gatherings.
